Dr. Ralf Kuhlen, MD, PhD – Chief Medical Officer of Helios Health

Professor Dr. Ralf Kuhlen, MD, PhD, is Chief Medical Officer of Helios Health. He is strategically responsible for Medical Affairs, Research & Development and Quality Management. Helios Health was founded in 2018 by Fresenius as the holding company for its hospital groups in Germany (Helios) and Spain (Quironsalud). Dr. Kuhlen was appointed to the international holding company after serving as Chief Medical Officer for Helios Germany since 2010. He was trained as an anaesthetist and held several clinical and academic positions before joining Helios in 2007 as Chief Physician of Intensive Care Medicine. He has held a professorship in Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at RWTH Aachen University and has co-authored numerous scientific publications and books.
